Here are another trio of big bass pulled off Brigantine Beach by Ean, his buddy and Dad early Saturday morning 5/22

Todd Mossman fishing with his Dad in Wreck inlet landed this monster 63 # drum on a Saturday Trip.

Capt. Tony has been dunkin Bunker at the bridge and this is one of his successful catches.  He has been using the new Lowrance HDS Side  Scan sonar to locate the fish and says it is unbelievable

Chris Polcini headed north the the fantastic fishing going on up north out of Point Pleasant and brought back this 43# bass that was one of many caught in the Bunker Schools.

John Hoagland went back to to wreck inlet with Todd Mossman and they landed 3 drum.  This was the big one but a similar size fish was released. One other puppy was size for the pan.

11 year old Santino Nave was first on the rod pulling on this 70 Pound Drum that ate a clam behind Ocean City near Great Egg Inlet on Dad's Boat, "Hook em' Cook em'"

It was a group effort before it was finally brought to the boat on a light flounder weight outfit on Sunday 5/16

Tyrone wanted to show off what all his time on the beach is going to.  This 55# monster was more than just a easy swim in the pond to bring it thru the surf.

Derrick Walker landed his first Bass over 20#

5/13/2010 and My crew hooked up with the first drum on my boat.

This one big ugly mother pulled the scale down to 50#

And since it was the first on my boat I got a picture too.  Other than that Bluefish were all that was landed.  A 30# + Bass did give a hell of a fight and pulled the hook at the side of the boat.

John and Al limped on board and had a great day.  The numbers weren't giant, but John fought this fatty behind Brigantine, then we headed up to the flats of Great Bay

Where we found the blues bustin' on top under birds and we bothered them a while.  The wind against the tide didn't let us set up for the sea monsters I know live there.  So we got out of the wind against the bank at 178 and John pulled out another just a little bigger.

A great catch from the Boys off an OC Jetty not to be named, because they didn't tell me, or I would

Larry drew first blood on 5/11/10 a banner day with the last of my hidden HERRING stash, unfortunately they weren't hidden from the sharp eyed sharp billed Great Blue Herron

Not much Doubt as to where Dave managed to hang this beauty.

On this day Jimmy must have been designated net man because he couldn't convince a fish to bite.

Over all it was a great day with 5 bass on 9 HERRING, but the bluefish must have had frostbite because the temperature hovered around 50 degrees everywhere.

I was back on the flats with Dr. Foster and crew 5/6/10 and even though the wind was blowing the bluefish just kept getting meaner and meaner

On the shallow flats often less than 3 feet showing on the depth finder, they really put on a show.

The wind made it tough, but the good Doctor did manage to put a keeper bass in the box at the top of the tide.

Ean is back again with this bass caught off the beach with his dad

Fred and his son Dave were out on the 5th of May and kept the Bluefish from eating all the bait in the Great Bay. These gators were blowing up surface poppers.  Work them fast and loud.

Little Beach Sod Banks gave Fred his first Bass ever a short

Great Bay isn't just for Bluefish, this crew on the bank landed a real nice bass that had to go over 20# and this local fisherman anchored on the outside of the slough managed a similar fish

I even snuck a HERRING in the water to grab a keeper by this landmark.

Dave's keeper came from little beach and his dad got one for the box at the old reliable 178

April 30th was the last day of Fyke Net season so my son and partner Kevin with some other help pulled the nets and managed to get everything piled on the truck, along with the last 40 Live HERRING of the season.

Dave Morris and Crew started out May 4th banging bluefish on poppers on the Egg Island Flats

And ended the day at high tide at this regular spot with a nice Keeper for Dave's first of the season

Tom Newman came down from Manesquan to go on my first charter of the season 4/28/10 and fought this 16.5# beauty from around a popular channel marker on the ICW

I pulled my first keeper of the year on Tom's trip which I fried to perfection last night

Tom filled his limit with his second.  We needed the full winter gear to fish on this windy Tuesday.

Mat Grodziak came out on trip #2 on 4/29 with his buddy, I guess the high winds blew the fish out of the bay because all we found were these two shorts.

I rushed the picture to get this 26" fish back in the water but it was my first bass of the season and my last live HERRING.

Capt. Billy got this fattie on his last HERRING

Ean does it again on the banks of Reeds Bay, proving once again you don't need a boat to get plenty of quality fishing

Ean caught this keeper walking out to the sod banks in the back of Reeds Bay from his house proving that if you have the desire and are willing to tromp thru the mud you don't need a boat get the fish.

Bob and Vicki put their first pair in the boat on April 13th, of course Vicki caught the big one.

Mike Mangan brought in this pair of beauties while fishing with green crab at the bridge for tog, yes he did limit out on the Blackfish as well.

Bob, Vicky and Marty show off their catch on an emailed photo since i had my camera out on the boat.

Len Kandoff was the lucky angler fishing on the Pipe Wrench with Capt. Mark Knapik when this beautiful 20.9#  hit on the lightest rod on the boat.

Capt. Billy brought in his first keeper of the year on April 12

The 30# Gift Certificate didn't last long after the 20# prize was given away.  Chris Stewart blew away the 30# mark with this 35.5# beauty caught in the Great Egg Harbor River.  Sounds like a trend if you are looking to hook up over the next couple weeks.

4/2/10 Half Day Triple Tog Limit

For Tony, Ray and Don, you know where they were.

Don Scull joined the Tog Masters for his first blackfish escapade so you know he'll be back

Birch Grove Park is always a favorite and 15 year old Buster Paynter put a spinner to good work on this 5.20 pound Brown Trout which brought enough smiles to take away any doubts about the worthwhile of the trout stocking program.

Ryan Harp squeezed in the door just in time on the 2nd to cash in with 3rd place and a $50 Gift Certificate

Fred Bakley didn't quite break the 20# mark with this beauty, but It did pull the scale down to 17.10# a great catch and he backed it up with a 30" keeper so there is a Good Friday fish dinner if I ever saw one.

Thanks for the herring this morning.
Joe JR

Jimmy Ruiz came up from Florida to fish with his brother and hooked up with this 15 pound beauty

Congratulations Chris McIntee for catching the first striper of 2010, Weighed in by noon on the 1st.

2nd Place didn't take long either Jeff Normant  pulled this `10 pounder in on the second .  Another lure caught local fish.
