I will take out a very nominal amount for refreshments at weigh in and production costs but I will put back $15.00 toward prizes for every $20.00 entry fee. I plan to have a variety of prizes in order to spread the wealth somewhat and make the tournament a little more interesting. I havve planned this tournament in prime fishing time for the striped bass so everyone should be fishing anyway. I only hope that fishing in this tournament will add to your fun.
1. ENTRY FEE' will be "$20 PER PERSON" for boat or land based fishermen. This fee must be received at Absecon Bay Sportsman Center prior to November 1st. late entries will be accepted at check in on November 1st until midnight. Late entries will be $25. A complete breakdown of entry fees usage and prizes will be listed on a prize page.. 2. "BOUNDARIES" will be from Little Egg Inlet to the north and to Great Egg inlet to the South. This will include all waters, beaches, bridges, jetties and sod banks. 3. Regarding Boat Fishermen: Everyone on a boat must be entered and the boat must be registered. There will be an additional $10 boat registration fee which will go 100% to prizes in a "Captain’s Pool." Everyone on the boat need not enter at the same time but at the check in on Friday November 1st, the Captain or appointed member of the crew must confirm who will be fishing the tournament. 4. "CHECK IN" will be held at Absecon Bay Sportsman Center on November 1st prior to fishing. Every land based fisherman and one representative from each boat will be required to check in prior to fishing during business hours on November 1st, which in this case will be 6 am to 12 midnight. 5. "A MIDNIGHT WEIGH-IN" will be held on Friday November 1st 8 pm. until midnight. This will enable anglers to keep a limit on Friday and another on Saturday to give you a better chance at the big one. There will be a Friday Night Calcutta for those wishing to make a quick trip and still have a chance at a prize. Friday weigh in will be for big fish only over 32”or a big fish and a slot fish if you do not wish or are unable to weigh in Saturday. 6. "FINAL WEIGH IN" will be from 10 am until the tournament completely closes at 12 noon Saturday. Absolutely no late weigh ins and prizes will be awarded at 1 pm. Saturday. 7. Each angler entered will be permitted to weigh in one slot fish and one fish over 32" at the Saturday morning weigh-ins. See Below for a complete list of prizes designed to reward the best fishermen and give LUCK a chance for those who don't find the big one. 8. “Slot Fish” This tournament has prizes which include the weight of slot fish which are from 24” to 28”. Each angler will be allowed to weigh in only one slot fish during the tournament. If you weigh in a slot fish Friday night that will be your final weigh in. This is to allow anglers who cannot make the Saturday weigh-in a chance to participate. Anyone weighing in a slot fish which is either less than 24" or greater than 28" will have the weight deducted from the weight of their big fish. This will be at the sole discression of the weigh master. The tail of any slot fish must be in perfect shape or tampering will be assumed. 9. All fishing will be done in accepted sporting manner on rod and reel, hook and line. Though I do not expect IGFA rules to be followed exactly they are good guidelines. 10. Any PROTESTS must be registered in writing before the end of the tournament at 12 pm. Saturday. I, David Showell, will be the final judge and my decision will be final. 11. Liquid refreshments and snacks will be available at the end of the tournament 12 pm Saturday. 12. Long Sleeve "Striper Fishermen Do It All Night" T-SHIRTS are now available for purchase by registered anglers for $10.00. Angler Entry Form, Boat Registration form I will be actively soliciting additional prizes for this tournament from the various fishing tackle manufactures and distributors I deal with. If you are interested in donating prizes I will gladly post a link to your web page and you will be given credit at all opportunities. If you wish to donate prizes e-mail exact description of your prize and a web site banner. Applications will be made available in print and here on the web as soon as possible. If you would like an application in word format send request to the above e-mail address. A complete list of participating anglers and boats will be posted on line as they come in. This will allow you to know your competition as well as what the total prizes will be. Good Luck, Have Fun and keep stopping back as I complete
